Our Story
It all began in December 1998, amidst the sparkling holiday lights of Highland Park Village. That year, John Jaksch started a new chapter as a driver for holiday lights carriage tours, leaving behind a life as a touring musician. It was there he first noticed Jamie Fisher. Though bundled against the cold, her eyes caught his attention, and he felt an instant connection.
“I got a glance, and there was this connection. I knew she was the one. I called my mom right there and then and said I had met the girl I was going to marry.”
After months of chance encounters, conversations around the horses, and late-night talks, John and Jamie’s connection grew into a love story. In April 2000, John proposed at the Dallas Arboretum, and in December 2000, the couple married. Instead of taking a honeymoon, they invested their wedding funds into creating their own business: Threejays Carriages. Their dream was to carry on the cherished tradition of horse-drawn carriage rides and share the same magic that brought them together.
